Care built around one body, yours.
Chiropractic at Powerhouse begins with understanding, not assumption. Every new client receives a thorough full body evaluation so that nothing is missed and nothing is guessed at. Only then do we build a plan around your history, your goals and the way your body actually responds.
Treatment combines precise chiropractic adjustments with hands on manual therapy. Adjustments restore joint motion and support nervous system function. Manual work, including myofascial release, cupping, scraping and trigger point techniques, addresses the soft tissue that holds those patterns in place.
Just as important, we teach you what is happening inside your body. Understanding the what and the why behind an injury is what allows you to care for yourself long after a session ends.
Pain relief is just the first step. Improving movement patterns builds resiliency to move through injury and beyond, not just in the studio, but in life.
How care works, step by step.
Every plan is individual, but the path through care follows the same principles: understand first, treat precisely, then build strength that lasts.
Full body evaluation
Your first visit is a comprehensive 60 minute assessment covering your history, posture, joint motion and movement patterns to find the source of the problem, not just the symptom.
Hands on treatment
Adjustments and manual therapy tailored to what the evaluation found, which may include myofascial release, cupping, scraping, trigger point work and joint mobilization.
Corrective movement
Targeted exercises and activation drills so the changes made on the table carry into how you move every day.
A plan you can carry
You leave understanding what is happening and what to do about it, with self care tools you can use on your own between visits.
What chiropractic care can help with
Back and neck pain
Persistent or recurring pain, stiffness and restricted motion through the spine.
Postural strain
Desk, driving and screen related patterns that build tension through the neck, shoulders and upper back.
Joint restriction
Limited mobility through the spine, hips, shoulders and other joints that changes how you move.
Headaches and tension
Tension patterns that involve the neck, jaw and upper back.
Injury recovery
Rehabilitation after strain or injury, with a graded return to the activity you care about.
Movement imbalance
Compensations and asymmetries that quietly limit performance and lead to recurring problems.

Frequently asked.
What happens at my first chiropractic visit?
Your first visit is a 60 minute comprehensive assessment. Dr. Schaffer reviews your health history, evaluates your posture, joint motion and movement patterns, and explains what she finds. Most first visits include treatment as well as a plan for what comes next.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in California?
No. California is a direct access state, so you can book an appointment with a chiropractor without a physician referral. If your situation would be better served by another provider, Dr. Schaffer will tell you.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what is going on, how long it has been going on and what you want to get back to. Rather than selling long prepaid plans, care here is reassessed as you progress and adjusted to what your body is actually doing.
Is chiropractic treatment painful?
Treatment should not be painful. Some manual therapy techniques, such as cupping or trigger point work, can feel intense while they are being performed, and some people notice mild soreness afterward, similar to after exercise. Everything is adjusted to your comfort.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something you can move comfortably in. Athletic or stretchy clothing works well, since your visit will include movement assessment and corrective exercise.
