01 · Overview

Two disciplines, one session.

Most people are sent to one provider to get out of pain and somewhere else entirely to get strong again. The handoff is where progress is usually lost. Chirolates removes it by putting both halves of the work into a single 50 minute appointment with one practitioner who does both.

The first half is hands-on chiropractic care: adjustments, myofascial release and the manual work needed to restore joint motion and release the tissue holding a pattern in place. The second half moves straight onto the equipment, loading that newly available range with Pilates so your body learns to hold it.

That order matters. Mobility gained on the table tends to disappear if nothing teaches the body to use it. Training strength into a restricted joint tends to reinforce the compensation. Doing both in sequence, in the same hour, is what makes the change stick.

Half the session realigning your body, half retraining it to move well.
02 · What To Expect

How care works, step by step.

Every plan is individual, but the path through care follows the same principles: understand first, treat precisely, then build strength that lasts.

01

Check in and assess

A quick reassessment of what has changed since your last visit and what your body needs today, so the session is built around the present, not a fixed plan.

02

Hands-on chiropractic

Adjustments, myofascial release, cupping or scraping as indicated, to restore joint motion and address the soft tissue limiting you.

03

Load it on the equipment

Reformer, tower and chair work chosen to train the range just created, with cueing so you can feel the difference.

04

Carry it out the door

Two or three things to practice before the next session so the work continues between visits.

03 · Who It Helps

Who Chirolates is for

Managing an injury

You need treatment and rehabilitation, and would rather not coordinate two providers and two appointments to get both.

Chronic neck or low back tension

Pain that keeps returning because the pattern behind it has never been retrained, only relieved.

Returning after time away

Coming back to movement after months or years off, wanting to rebuild without picking up an injury on the way.

Wanting to start Pilates

You have been meaning to begin, but suspect your alignment needs attention before loading it.

Short on time

One appointment covering treatment and training, rather than two separate visits each week.

Plateaued in care

Adjustments feel good but do not hold, which usually means the strength side of the equation is missing.

Small by design, so care is precise, personal and consistent from your first visit onward.

One practitioner, start to finish

You are seen by Dr. Schaffer at every visit. Nothing is handed to an assistant and nothing gets lost between providers.

Evaluation before treatment

Every course of care opens with a full body evaluation, so nothing is missed and nothing is assumed.

Two disciplines under one roof

Chiropractic and clinical Pilates run together here, which means treatment and retraining reinforce each other instead of competing.

You leave knowing why

Understanding the what and the why behind an injury is what lets you care for your own body long after a session ends.

07 · Questions

Frequently asked.

What exactly is Chirolates?

It is a 50 minute session that combines hands-on chiropractic treatment with clinical Pilates. Roughly half the appointment is manual care to restore alignment and joint motion, and the other half trains that range on the Pilates equipment so the change holds.

Do I need to have done Pilates before?

No. Chirolates is often the easiest way in for people who have wanted to start Pilates but know their alignment needs attention first. Everything is cued and scaled to you.

Should I book this or a regular chiropractic visit?

If you are brand new, start with the Initial Chiropractic Assessment so Dr. Schaffer can do a full evaluation. Chirolates is ideal once you are established, or if you know you want both treatment and movement in the same appointment.

How is this different from booking chiropractic and Pilates separately?

Sequence and timing. The Pilates work happens immediately after the manual work, in the same session, which is when the tissue and joints are most receptive. It also means one practitioner is holding the whole picture rather than two working in parallel.

What should I wear?

Clothing you can move in, plus grip socks, which are required for any work on the Pilates equipment.
